The travel snack checklist

When we travel, we still try to eat healthy as much as possible. There may be an occasional ice cream on a hot day, but we find that if we try to continue to eat healthy it helps everyone – especially the kids – cope better with the lack of routine and irregular sleep schedules. Here are some of our favourite healthy snacks that the whole family enjoys –

  • Homemade bliss balls (there are heaps of recipes online)
  • Popcorn (salted)
  • Rice cakes with natural peanut butter
  • Roasted nuts
  • Cheese and rice crackers
  • Hummus
  • Carrot sticks
  • Fresh fruit (buy what’s in season to save money)
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Water, water, water!
