That’s a wrap!

Hello from the work week ending 15 September

It’s been a fun Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori here at Parenting Place! Between the waiata we sing at staff meetings at our Auckland office, Te Reo lessons on Tuesday/Wednesday mornings (at 7am!) and words we’ve learned dotted throughout conversation, it’s pretty much Māori Language Week every week around here. But we’ve loved taking it up a notch this week with Petra and Pio chatting about it on Facebook Live, and this sweet video of Dave and his two-year-old boy, Harley (see below).

What are some ways your family tried out Te Reo this week? A favourite word around here is ‘whanaungatanga’ – (noun) relationship, kinship, sense of family connection – a relationship through shared experiences and working together which provides people with a sense of belonging.

P.S. Our newest edition of Parenting online also went flying into email inboxes everywhere yesterday – did you get yours? If not, sign on up here – we’d hate for you to miss it!
